Our stay was very nice, I couldn’t have asked for more. This home was charming and comfortable for the whole family. We had a wedding to attend and our entire party of 7 were so happy to be in this beautiful place.
The location was great, easy access and private parking. The home was clean and in excellent condition. It had everything we needed to prepare meals and the washer and dryer were a bonus for us.
The vacation staff answered all inquiries in quick response.
Hearing the birds in the morning light, looking out the backyard with the mandarin tree, I was in heaven.- Holli R. from Littleton, Posted: 01/19/2020
Great house in a quiet neighborhood. Very clean. Awesome backyard- we ate dinner there and my son played basketball. The kitchen has everything you need to cook - it's well above most rental houses. Two things to be aware of - the 2 bathrooms are downstairs. One upstairs bedrooms has slanted ceilings that are very low- our 2 teens hit their heads repeatedly. Stairs to 2nd floor are very steep, so not suitable for senior citizens. Also in master bath there are steps down to the bathroom with no handrail, so senior citizens should be aware. Very hip and fun decor - lots of board games, which we played in the evening. Great location near downtown Pasadena, lots of restaurants and easy access to freeway.- Diana H. from Oregon, Posted: 08/20/2021
Well stocked and pet friendly.- Anonymous from Irvine, Posted: 12/13/2022
The house worked very well for a family weekend (4 adults) in Pasadena. Nice family room and exterior patio space for visiting!- Anonymous from Dublin, Posted: 11/03/2021
We had a great stay in this beautiful, well-equipped house. When we needed help Vacation Living responded right away. Everything was clear and well coordinated.- Claudia F. from Pasadena, Posted: 12/27/2022
Great house with everything you can possibly need! The house was very clean and amenities are great. Would definitely stay again.- Julien D. from Chelmsford, Posted: 09/08/2021
We spent our quarantine week at Desert Rose and had a lovely stay. The house is comfy and had a great backyard to keep our daughter entertained.- Suzana C. , Posted: 12/07/2020
We enjoyed our stay at Desert Rose. The home was very well equipped and met our needs. The home was very clean and comfortable.- Anonymous from Burien, Posted: 10/14/2020
lovely and comfortable
Super comfortable stay with free snacks and wine on the dining table at check in! The house was really lovely and the kitchen was so well equipped and clean!- Melinda L from San Francisco, CA, Posted: 02/26/2022
We stayed in this house instead of staying at the Hilton where our work event was. We were in the house for 5 days and it was so comfortable! The beds were comfortable and the showers were great. The house was very clean and there was a little goodie basket left for us. Very welcoming and cozy! We also loved the location. We got up to walk at 5am every morning and although very dark outside at that time, we always felt safe. We walked the neighborhood and into Old Pasadena by the shops and restaurants and really enjoyed the area. We also have dietary restrictions and finding food to accommodate us nearby was never a problem! We hope to stay here again next year for the same event!- Mindy L. from Winfield, Posted: 11/11/2021
Nice stay in a quiet neighborhood.- Anonymous from Saratoga Springs, Posted: 03/23/2023
Great place to relax with family. Very quiet and easy walk to parks, markets and restaurants. The backyard was perfect for our dogs and enjoying the barbecue and outdoor eating space. Really loved being able to open the glass sliders off the kitchen and walk right onto the deck and out to the yard. Lots of natural light and comfortable living space.- Anonymous from Clovis, Posted: 04/15/2023
We had a very good experience. Thanks for the gift basket on the table for our arrival! We enjoyed the beverage and snacks. The property is well positioned in the city of Pasadena for quick access to shopping, downtown and Rose Bowl.
We didn't use the TV or album turn table, but they were available. The kitchen was clean and very useful. Plenty of room for three or four cars on property.
Minor negative issues follow:
1) The house is pet friendly so when we sat on the couch we had dog/cat fur on our clothes. So, we didn't use the couch; a major source of seating in the living room. We did not bring pets, so a vacuum on the couch would help.
2) There are two bathrooms, which is great, but both located downstairs. Our sons, who stayed with us our whole visit had to walk down if they needed the restroom during the night. They used the two bedrooms up.
3) The wood floor could have been cleaner (there was no obvious dust, dirt or debris) as it just needed a wet-mop.
Overall, we had a happy time. Thanks for making the house available. We were able to visit family, social distance from others and enjoy good bike rides.

This mid-century modern property was perfect for our family to hangout and spend our precious time together making new memories that we will always cherish. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we could possibly need to prepare the family meals that we enjoyed in our private retreat in the backyard.
We cannot say enough about Kate, who took care of all our needs in the most professional curtious manner possible.
The Desert Rose is somewhere we hope to be able to return to soon.- Anonymous from WILMINGTON, Posted: 07/28/2021
Excellent property great location. Would book again.- DANIEL C. from NA, Posted: 07/27/2023
Such a fantastic property. I don't think we've ever stayed somewhere that literally has everything you could ever need. We felt very welcomed and enjoyed our stay very much. Hope to be back again.- Anonymous from Austin, Posted: 03/19/2022
Everything about our trip was excellent. The management was very accommodating and flexible when a hurricane interrupted our communications prior to check-in, and even helped us with transportation arrangements.
The house itself had everything. A great front porch, plenty of entertainment (records, books, video games, board games, art, etc.), a basketball goal, outdoor cooking options and a couple of neighbor cats who visited every night.
The house is within an easy walk of anything you need, with plenty of restaurant, bar, shopping and grocery options.- Anonymous from Baton Rouge, Posted: 09/10/2021
The home was very clean when we arrived and was quite well stocked with things like garbage bags, detergent, etc. The dining table broke early in our stay and things were taken care of immediately by Kate and Kathleen. We needed to purchase some cleaning supplies but our stay was for 5 weeks- temperatures were well over 100% for part of the stay, the home stayed mostly comfortable. Centrally located. Was exactly what we needed- Catherine S. from Bluffton , Posted: 10/19/2020
Cozy, clean, safe, comfy home with added backyard space for grandkids and little chihuahua to play made for a winning environment and experience for a family Thanksgiving gathering.
Alerts:1. handrail needed in downstairs bathroom 2. Kitchen cabinet door hinges need to be fixed to avoid dangerous closing on somebody's hand.- Helane Z. , Posted: 11/30/2021
During our stay, we had significant issues that were outside the control of the owner and property managers. This review is not about those issues.
The rental is missing basics and simple things that can make the experience a five star. For example, there are only six plates and six glasses so after every meal, the dishwasher must be run; there are maybe eight forks total (and some are very small kids forks); there are no trash cans in the upstairs bedrooms; the stairs to the two upstairs bedrooms are precarious and this is not noted in the description - if you are tall or have mobility issues, you will not be able to make it; there is no bathroom upstairs (which is not explicit in the description); air conditioning remotes are very confusing and could use explanation; there are only five dining room chairs because one is broken and has not been fixed; of the remaining five chairs, many have loose screws and are precarious; in the back bathroom, there is only one hook on the wall so there is very little place to hang towels.
Kate as a property manager was excellent and deserves a bonus for what she had to deal with during our stay. However, I feel like the owners needs to do a thoughtful evaluation of the condition and state of the property for a real five star stay.- Stephanie M. from Brisbane, Posted: 04/07/2021
We travelled to Pasadena for a competition with a lot of athletes. We used this house as our base for cooking, healing and rest. It did not disappoint. Kitchen was amazing, equipped with everything we needed. Backyard with a basketball hoop was amazing, grill area perfect.- JIM M. from NA, Posted: 06/07/2023
Overall the stay was pleasant. Well equipped, including a welcome basket. Ver convenient to 210 freeway and downtown Pasadena.
Kitchen faucet was wobbly and toilet paper holder & towel holder barely attached.
The unit could do with a deep cleaning of bathroom downstairs and bedding.
Neighbor across the street had loud party Sunday evening. No blackout curtains.- Anonymous from Goleta, Posted: 08/08/2021
