The Clara

What a wonderful home. The views are amazing, the beds are comfortable. the surrounding neighborhood is lovely. We truly enjoyed this home. It was a unique and comfortable experience.

We enjoyed this home tremendously. Extremely clean, and well kept. The view was amazing. The kitchen fairly well equiped, did not have cookie sheets or muffin tins, both of which I needed for a breakfast I wanted to prepare. They did not provide shampoo or condiitoner whihc was a disappointment, nor kleenex. Sol I had to buy a box of kleenex for a 3 day stay. The upstairs bathroom you had to step down into the tub. This could be a pro blem for some people. The lower master bath shower, my son who is 5' 10" could not fit under it, it's hung too low. The other bathroom the shelf was coming off the wall, so the glass he put there slide right off an broke. No paper or plastic cups were provided for the bathroon. On going problem with all of these style of rentals. It did have a 2 car garage, and large TV in the 2 living areas. Again, this house is all about the view.

Overall this property was great. It is a beautiful home, the location was very nice and the views were fantastic. There was ample room and I like that each bedroom had its own bathroom. The only thing I would recommend is to update the bedding and the linens and add additional cookware.

Not sure if this is a norm since most properties I looked at seemed to follow the same floor plan but televisions in all of the bedrooms would be an added bonus.

WOW!!
What can I say? The view is just something you cannot capture with a picture! We opted to stay in a few nights just to watch the sunset. What else, the beds were very comfortable and cooking dinner while looking down over the hills was a special treat. Do yourself a favor and rent here, we loved it!

We very much enjoyed staying at The Clara in Glendale. The location is very convenient. It only takes about 10 minutes to drive to downtown Glendale with lots of restaurants and shopping. Several trailheads are less than 15 minutes away. We did some wonderful hikes with amazing views in the Brand Canyon and Verdugo Mountains Open Space preserves. The views from the home itself are also gorgeous. To get up to the house, you have to drive up some fairly narrow and curvy streets so keep that in mind if you aren’t comfortable driving in that environment. As long as you go slow and watch for upcoming traffic you will be fine though.

The house has three bedrooms, one upstairs and two downstairs. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. What we didn’t like is that the bathrooms are open to the bedroom and don’t have a door you can close for privacy. It would be good if shampoo in addition to shower gel would be provided in each shower. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen is very functional, but could use some attention. We noticed that the drinking water faucet next to the kitchen sink is leaking water when used. The door to the microwave is sticky and as a result a little difficult to open. Lastly, the refrigerator seems to be running constantly, so it may need some maintenance. These aren’t huge issues, but they should be addressed. Having breakfast and lunch at the dining table while enjoying the great views was a treat.

The home has AC, which we used during the day. Something we noticed is that the cooling downstairs varies quite a bit by room. The primary bedroom is the coldest, followed by the living area downstairs. The secondary bedroom downstairs is the warmest.

The issues I highlighted were a bit distracting, but they can all be addressed and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay at The Clara again.
